Nitrogen kickoff
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002543
A well intervention technique that uses injected nitrogen gas to reduce the hydrostatic pressure in the wellbore, allowing the reservoir fluids to flow to the surface. This method is applied to initiate production in wells that have been killed with heavy fluids or to unload liquids from gas wells. Nitrogen is typically injected through coiled tubing or a workover string.
