Nitrogen unit
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002546
A piece of surface equipment that generates and pumps high-pressure gaseous nitrogen for use in well servicing and stimulation operations. The unit typically consists of a cryogenic nitrogen tank, a high-pressure pump to pressurize the liquid nitrogen, and a heat exchanger to vaporize it into a gas before injection. These self-contained units can deliver nitrogen at pressures up to 10,000 psi for applications like well cleanouts, jetting, and foam fracturing.
