Ballout
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000266
The condition reached in a stimulation treatment that uses ball sealers for diversion, when the balls have seated on enough perforations that almost none remain open. It shows at surface as a sharp rise in pumping pressure at constant rate, and it means further fluid can no longer be diverted to new perforations. The balls are afterward released by flowing the well back or by lowering the pressure.
