Frac balls
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001551
Small, spherical objects, typically made of dissolvable or composite materials, used in multi-stage hydraulic fracturing operations to temporarily isolate specific perforations or zones. These balls are dropped into the well and seat in specially designed ports, diverting fracturing fluid to other sections. After fracturing, they either dissolve or are flowed back to the surface.
