Conductance
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000806
The ability of a material to conduct electric current, defined as the reciprocal of its electrical resistance. In geophysics, it is a measure used in electrical and electromagnetic survey methods to characterize subsurface layers. The total longitudinal conductance of a layer is the product of its thickness and its average electrical conductivity, expressed in units of siemens (S).
