Conductive invasion
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000807
The process where drilling fluid filtrate, which is more conductive than the formation water, displaces formation fluids into the permeable zone around the borehole. This invasion alters the electrical properties of the invaded zone, affecting resistivity log readings. The depth of conductive invasion influences the interpretation of deep-reading resistivity tools.
