Flushed zone

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001517

The region of a permeable formation immediately adjacent to the borehole wall where drilling mud filtrate has completely displaced the original formation fluids. In this zone, the fluid saturation is primarily composed of filtrate, and its electrical resistivity is dominated by the filtrate resistivity. The depth of invasion into the flushed zone is typically a few inches.
