Resistivity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013497
An intrinsic property of a material that quantifies its opposition to the flow of electric current, independent of the material's size or shape. It is the proportionality constant between the electric field within a material and the current density it produces. Resistivity, symbolized by the Greek letter rho (ρ), is measured in units of ohm-meters (Ω·m) in the International System of Units.
