Resistivity
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003128
A fundamental electrical property of a material that quantifies how strongly it opposes the flow of electric current. In formation evaluation, it is a key indicator of fluid content, as hydrocarbons and rock matrix are highly resistive, while saline water is conductive. Resistivity is measured in ohm-meters (ohm-m).
