True resistivity
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003926
The actual electrical resistivity of a formation, representing its inherent ability to impede the flow of electric current. This value is measured by logging tools and is corrected for the effects of the borehole, mud invasion, and tool response. True resistivity is a key parameter for identifying hydrocarbon-bearing zones, as hydrocarbons are electrically resistive.
