True dip
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003925
The maximum angle of inclination of a bedding plane or other planar geological feature from the horizontal, measured perpendicular to the strike. It represents the actual steepest slope of the feature. True dip is a fundamental measurement in structural geology, used to construct cross-sections and interpret subsurface geometry.
