Guard log
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001766
A type of focused resistivity log that uses guard electrodes to force the measuring current to flow horizontally into the formation, providing a deep measurement of true formation resistivity. This tool is particularly effective in highly resistive formations and in wells with conductive drilling mud. It provides a more accurate resistivity measurement by minimizing the influence of the borehole and invaded zone.
