Superconducting transition

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011588

A phase transition occurring in certain materials when cooled below a critical temperature, at which point they exhibit zero electrical resistance and expel magnetic fields. This phenomenon is characterized by a sharp drop in resistivity to an immeasurable value. The critical temperature, Tc, is a material-specific property that defines the onset of superconductivity.
