Critical index
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002688
A dimensionless exponent that describes the power-law behavior of a physical quantity near a critical point, such as a phase transition. These indices characterize the universality class of the transition, meaning they are independent of the specific material. Examples include exponents describing the divergence of correlation length or specific heat.
