Siemens

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013551

The SI derived unit for electric conductance, representing the reciprocal of electrical resistance. One siemens is defined as the conductance of a conductor in which a current of one ampere flows when a potential difference of one volt is applied across it. This unit is equivalent to an inverse ohm (Ω⁻¹) and is often used in electrochemistry to quantify the conductivity of solutions.
