Photon
Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-020929
1. A discrete “packet” of electromagnetic energy, that has no mass and exhibits properties of both particles and waves. These photon quanta travel at the speed of light. Gamma rays and x-rays are photons.
2. A discrete "packet" of pure electromagnetic energy that has no rest mass and travels at the speed of light. Gamma rays and X rays are both photons.
