Carrier
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001679
A stable isotope or compound added to a radioactive sample to facilitate chemical processing, such as precipitation or extraction, by increasing the total mass of the element of interest. This allows for macroscopic handling and separation of trace amounts of radioactive material. The carrier must be chemically identical or very similar to the radionuclide being processed.
