Frequency
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004667
The number of cycles or oscillations of a periodic phenomenon that occur per unit of time. It is the reciprocal of the period and is often used to describe waves, such as electromagnetic radiation or sound waves. The SI unit of frequency is the hertz (Hz), which corresponds to one cycle per second.
