Frequency

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005777

The rate at which a recurring event happens over a specific interval of time. In the context of waves, it is the number of crests or complete cycles that pass a fixed point per unit of time. Frequency is measured in hertz (Hz), where one hertz equals one cycle per second, and it is inversely proportional to the wavelength of the radiation.
