Frequency analysis

A statistical method used to determine the probability of occurrence of events of a given magnitude within a specified period. In meteorology, it is applied to analyze historical weather data, such as rainfall, wind speeds, or flood levels, to estimate the return period of extreme events. This analysis is often used in hydrological engineering and climate risk assessment.
