Cycle per second

A unit of frequency, representing one complete oscillation or repetition of a periodic phenomenon occurring in one second. This unit was historically used to describe the frequency of waves, such as electromagnetic radiation or sound waves. It has been superseded by the hertz (Hz), where one hertz is equivalent to one cycle per second.
