Wave frequency

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010147

The number of wave cycles or oscillations that pass a fixed point per unit of time. It is the reciprocal of the wave period and is typically measured in Hertz (Hz). For ocean waves, frequency is inversely related to wavelength and is a key parameter in wave spectral analysis.
