Main-chain self-assembly
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006925
The spontaneous organization of polymer chains into ordered structures where the primary interactions driving assembly occur along the main backbone of the polymer. This process often involves specific recognition motifs or complementary functional groups distributed within the polymer chain itself. Such self-assembly can lead to the formation of complex hierarchical structures.
