Developmental neurotoxicity testing
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003102
A battery of experimental procedures designed to identify and characterize adverse effects on the developing nervous system caused by exposure to chemical substances. These tests typically involve administering a substance to pregnant animals and evaluating the offspring for neurological, behavioral, and pathological changes. Guidelines for such testing are provided by regulatory bodies like the OECD.
