Developmental neurotoxicity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003100
Adverse changes in the structure or function of the nervous system resulting from exposure to chemical or physical agents during its development. These effects can manifest at any point in the lifespan, from prenatal stages through adolescence, and may include cognitive deficits, motor dysfunction, or behavioral problems. The period of exposure determines the nature and severity of the outcome, as different brain regions have distinct windows of vulnerability.
