Developmental toxicity

Any adverse effect on the developing organism that results from exposure to a chemical or physical agent before conception, during prenatal development, or postnatally until puberty. These effects can include structural malformations, altered growth, functional deficits, or death. Teratogenicity is a specific type of developmental toxicity involving birth defects.
