Embryotoxicity

The adverse effects exerted by a chemical or physical agent on the developing embryo, leading to structural malformations, growth retardation, or embryonic death. This toxicity can manifest at any stage of embryonic development, from conception through organogenesis. Embryotoxicity is often assessed in preclinical studies using animal models.
