Teratogenesis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011867
The process by which an agent causes structural malformations or functional defects in an embryo or fetus during its development. This process involves disruptions to normal cellular and molecular events that guide organogenesis and tissue differentiation. It can result in birth defects ranging from minor anomalies to severe, life-threatening conditions.
