Developmental biology
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003099
The scientific discipline focused on understanding the processes by which organisms grow and develop from a single cell to a complex multicellular form. It encompasses the study of cell differentiation, morphogenesis, and growth. This field investigates the genetic control of cell growth, differentiation, and 'morphogenesis', which is the process that gives rise to tissues, organs, and anatomy.
