Embryology

The scientific study of the development of an organism from fertilization through the embryonic stage. This field investigates the cellular and molecular mechanisms that govern cell division, differentiation, and the formation of tissues and organs. It encompasses the period from the zygote to the end of the embryonic period, before the fetal stage begins.
