Chernoff-Kavlock assay
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001996
A screening assay used in developmental toxicology to identify potential developmental toxicants. This test involves exposing pregnant animals to a substance and then examining their offspring for a range of developmental abnormalities, including malformations, growth retardation, and functional deficits. The assay typically assesses endpoints such as litter size, pup viability, and external morphological changes.
