Germ cell gene mutation assay
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004857
A laboratory test designed to detect heritable genetic changes in the reproductive cells of an organism. This assay assesses the ability of a chemical or agent to induce mutations in sperm or egg cells, which can then be passed on to offspring. Such assays are performed in vivo, often using rodent models.
