A procedure for determining the quantity of a specific substance, such as a chemical compound or a biological molecule, within a sample. This quantitative analysis often involves chemical, physical, or biological methods to measure the concentration or activity of the analyte. For example, a radioimmunoassay uses radiolabeled molecules to measure the concentration of a substance.
