Phagocytic activity assay

A laboratory procedure for quantifying the ability of phagocytic cells, such as macrophages or neutrophils, to engulf and internalize foreign particles or microorganisms. This assay measures the efficiency of the cellular immune response. The activity can be assessed by counting internalized particles microscopically or by flow cytometry.
