Phagocyte

A type of cell that engulfs and digests foreign particles, microorganisms, and cellular debris through a process called phagocytosis. These cells are a primary component of the innate immune system, providing a rapid response to infection. Examples include macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes, which are found in blood and tissues throughout the body.
