Proliferation assay

A laboratory method used to measure the rate of cell division or growth in a cell population. These assays quantify the number of cells, DNA synthesis, or metabolic activity as indicators of proliferation. Common techniques include counting cells directly, measuring incorporation of labeled nucleotides, or using colorimetric reagents.
