Noncompetitive binding assay

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008011

An analytical method used to quantify a substance by measuring its binding to a specific receptor or antibody, where the labeled and unlabeled forms of the substance do not directly compete for the same binding sites. This assay format often involves sequential additions of reagents, such as in an ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay). The signal generated is directly proportional to the concentration of the analyte.
