Competitive binding assay

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002308

An analytical method where a labeled analyte and an unlabeled analyte compete for a limited number of binding sites on a specific receptor or antibody. The amount of labeled analyte bound is inversely proportional to the concentration of the unlabeled analyte in the sample. This technique is widely used for quantifying hormones, drugs, and other biomolecules at low concentrations.
