Heterogeneous binding assay
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005242
A method for measuring the binding affinity or concentration of a ligand to a receptor, where the bound and unbound species are physically separated. One component is immobilized on a solid phase, allowing for washing steps to remove non-specifically bound molecules. This technique is widely used in drug discovery and clinical diagnostics, often employing radiolabeled or fluorescent ligands.
