Radioreceptor assay
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009902
A biochemical assay that measures the concentration of a substance by its ability to compete with a radiolabeled ligand for binding to a specific receptor. The amount of bound radioactivity is inversely proportional to the concentration of the unlabeled substance in the sample. This method is used to quantify hormones, neurotransmitters, and drugs by assessing their receptor affinity.
