Labelling

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006402

The process of incorporating a detectable marker, such as a radioisotope, fluorescent dye, or stable isotope, into a molecule or substance. This modification allows for the tracing, identification, or quantification of the labeled entity in chemical or biological systems. For example, carbon-14 is a common radioisotope used for labeling organic compounds.
