Non-isotopic labelling
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008030
Labelling in which attaching the label gives a product whose chemical composition differs from that of the starting compound, as when a fluorescent group, an enzyme or a radioiodine atom is coupled to a molecule that did not contain it. It contrasts with isotopic labelling, where an atom is replaced by another isotope of the same element and the chemical composition is unchanged.
