Radioisotope dilution analysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009892
An analytical method for determining the amount of a substance in a sample by adding a known quantity of its radioactively labeled counterpart. After thorough mixing, the substance is isolated, and the change in specific activity or isotopic ratio is measured. This technique is particularly effective for samples where complete recovery of the analyte is difficult.
