Radionuclide
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009900
An atom characterized by an unstable nucleus that undergoes radioactive decay, emitting radiation in the process. These unstable isotopes transform into more stable nuclides by emitting alpha particles, beta particles, or gamma rays. Radionuclides are widely used in nuclear medicine for diagnostic imaging and therapeutic applications.
