Nuclear disintegration
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008096
The process where an unstable atomic nucleus spontaneously breaks down, emitting particles or electromagnetic radiation to achieve a more stable configuration. This phenomenon is also known as radioactive decay. It results in the transformation of one nuclide into another, often accompanied by the release of energy.
