Radionuclidic purity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009901
A measure of the proportion of a sample's total radioactivity that is due to the desired radionuclide. It is expressed as the ratio of the activity of the specified radionuclide to the total activity of the source, including all other radioactive contaminants. For radiopharmaceuticals, regulatory standards often require a radionuclidic purity exceeding 99.9 percent to minimize patient exposure to unintended radiation.
