Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007022

A dimensionless ratio of the quantity of a named component that has been isolated from a system to the quantity of the whole system before the isolation, for example the mass of fat isolated from a cheese sample relative to the total mass of that sample. The quantity is a mass, a volume or an amount of substance, and the ratio is reported as a percentage when both parts share a unit. In contrast, the recovered quantity value ratio sets a measured analyte quantity against the quantity known to be present.
