Spike
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011193
The addition of a known amount of an analyte to a sample matrix to assess analytical recovery or to calibrate a measurement. This process allows for the evaluation of matrix effects and the accuracy of the analytical method. The recovery percentage is calculated by comparing the measured concentration to the expected concentration after spiking.
