Direct isotope dilution analysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003258
A quantitative analytical technique where a known amount of an isotopically enriched standard of the analyte is added to the sample before chemical processing. The isotopic ratio of the analyte in the mixture is then measured, typically by mass spectrometry, to determine the original concentration. This method compensates for losses during sample preparation.
