Substoichiometric extraction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011531
A solvent extraction technique where the amount of extractant added is less than the stoichiometric quantity required to react with all of the analyte in the aqueous phase. This method is used to achieve high selectivity and to minimize matrix effects, as only a fraction of the analyte is extracted. It is often employed in radiochemical analysis and isotope dilution methods.
